Dell has unveiled three new PC monitors, including a new 32" UP3216Q with 4K resolution. Dell will also launch two smaller 27 and 25” monitors with 2560x1440 pixel resolution. All three monitors have support for the DCI P3 color gamut.

Dell continues to push out new monitors on an annual schedule. The new 4K monitor is an interesting addition to the high-end of the line-up whereas other monitors offer expanded color gamut for mainstream users.


Dell says that the 32” UP3216Q has 4K resolution (3840x2160 pixels) and “PremierColor”, which means that it supports 99.5% Adobe RGB and 100% sRGB. Video professionals will also be able to run the monitor in Rec.709 (100%) and DCI P3 (87%) modes. There is no mode for the much larger Rec.2020 gamut but since the monitor does not cover DCI P3 it still has some way to go be reaching Rec.2020. Dell says that colors are calibrated to less than deltaE 2.

UP3216Q supports 4K at 60 Hz and features an IPS panel. You can connect it to a PC via DisplayPort, mini-DisplayPort or HDMI 2.0. It furthermore also offers ergonomic adjustment options, 4 USB ports, and a 6-in-1 media card reader.

Dell UP2716D and UP2516D
The smaller 25” UP2516D and 27” UP2716D are positioned as smaller monitors for users working with video and photos. They come with 2560x1440 pixels and the same PremierColor system.


In fact, the two smaller monitors have better support for DCI P3 used for movies. They both cover 98% of DCI P3 as well as 100% of AdobeRGB, sRGB and Rec.709. The monitors have been calibrated to less than deltaE 2, so colors should be very accurate out of the box.

The new UP2516D and UP2716D can be considered almost identical except for the difference in diagonal size. They both feature an IPS panel and extensive ergonomic adjustments options. The monitors can be connected to a PC via DisplayPort, mini DisplayPort or 2x HDMI 1.4. There are also 4 USB ports.
