CES 2009: Samsung's new LCD-TV series with LED

Don't miss anything from CES 2009. See our huge CES 2009 section.

Samsung raises the bar for their flat-panel TVs with the launch of an entirely new line-up of LED HDTVs. The three new series are called 6000 (6 series), 7000 (7 series) and 8000 (8 series) and has been announced in 40-inches to 55-inches.

The new 8000, 7000 and 6000 series build upon the success of Samsung’s first and second generation LED HDTV models. The TVs use LEDs as their primary light source, rather than traditional Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps (CCFL).
Benefits of using LEDs include high dynamic contrast ratios, slim depths that allow for more artful designs, plus increased energy savings.

“Samsung stays committed to developing technology and products that go beyond current expectations of value, quality and innovation. And, we are excited to be a part of this exciting point in TV evolution.”
