Seiki has become the third largest 4K TV seller in the US by selling very cheap 4K TVs. Seiki is now expanding to the UK where it will sell a 39-inch 4K TV for Ł399 and a 50-inch for Ł599.
Seiki expanding to UK
Seiki rose to fame in the US by selling very cheap 4K TVs while big-name brands were charging a hefty premium for their Ultra HD offerings. They have continued to ride the 4K wave and continued to slash prices.
Seiki – pronounced SAY-key – is now expanding to Europe, starting with the UK. The first two models are the same models that Seiki have been selling in the US for some time. The 39 and 50-inch LCD TVs feature 4K resolution, edge LED backlight and 3 HDMI ports, but no HDMI 2.0 or HEVC decoding, which is required for Netflix 4K streaming.
Seiki has already announced a line-up of “Pro” 4K models with HDMI 2.0, so it is probably only a matter of time before the line-up in stores will expand.
Seiki’s 39” SE39UY01UK and 50” SE50UY01UK will be available in UK this July for Ł399 and Ł599. No words on other European countries.
