Over the last few weeks, LG has made its 2015 LCD models available in stores. The new TVs are now shipping in the US and most countries in Europe. LG is focusing on Ultra HD and an improved webOS system. The first 4K OLED TV is also shipping in most regions.
Ultra HD & improved webOS
We recently reviewed LG’s UF850V, which was one of the first TVs to become available. Most other TV ranges are now also shipping, including the first 2015 4K OLED TV. The rest of the 4K OLED TVs will launch in the second half of 2015.
LG has integrated a faster processor for webOS, making navigation much snappier. It has also included support for both HEVC and VP9 decoding, which means that you can stream 4K content from Netflix, Amazon Instant, and for the first time YouTube.
LG is offering Ultra HD from the 6 series LCD and up. The more expensive TVs will add a wireless sound system (Wireless Sound Sync) and 3D. The flagship LCD models offer ColorPrime that can expand the color gamut, and some of the TVs will also be available as curved TVs.
