We already knew that Netflix would expand to Italy, Spain, and Portugal soon. The company has now confirmed that it is entering Asia, more specifically Japan, next month as well as Iceland and Czech Republic soon after.
Netflix enters Asia next month
Netflix will enter Asia on September 2, 2015, and its launch country will be Japan. This is a big step for the US-based company that has already conquered most of Europe with its streaming service and hit shows.
One month after, in October, Netflix will expand to Southern Europe with Italy, Spain and Portugal. In the next couple of months, Netflix will also enter Iceland, with Czech Republic expected to follow in 2016.
Netflix further said that it will partner with Japanese TV brands to integrate a Netflix button on their TV remote controls. The company is bringing its original TV series and movies to Japan as well and hopefully some of the great Japanese movies will flow the other way, too.
