This year, Hisense will launch a total of 22 new TVs models in the US, ranging from 720p to 4K. At CES 2016, the company also announced its "ULED 3.0" TVs that are capable of reproducing HDR.

As highlighted by the company, and according to analysts at NPD, Hisense was the fastest growing 4K TV brand in the US last year. Hisense hopes to build on that momentum going into 2016.


The company will release a full line-up of TVs in every price and size class. Starting from the H7 series, Hisense will offer 4K resolution and HDR (high dynamic range) processing. Starting from the H8 series, the TVs will include "multi-zone local dimming", whereas the new H9 series will offer a full-array local dimming system.

With the H10 series, the company has also announced the third generation of its so-called "ULED" TVs. Like Samsung’s “SUHD” and LG’s "Super UHD", this is not a new type of display technology but instead LCD panels with quantum dot technology that enables them to reproduce HDR and a wider color gamut. H10 also has a full-array local dimming system. It will be available in 65" in the second half of 2016.


Most of the TVs offer access to an app store, and come equipped with WiFi "ac" and improved speakers. Hisense says that all the 4K TVs support HEVC and VP9 decoding for 4K streaming. There was no mention of HDR streaming support. A “4K Media Player” feature will allow users to enjoy 4K content via USB. 

Hisense has signed on as a partner for Google’s "Android TV" but none of the 2016 models come equipped with the operating system, it appears. One model, a low-end H4, will offer Roku OS.
