Dell has announced two new monitors, S2417DG and SE2717H, designed for gaming. Details of a third, the 34” curved U3417W, has leaked ahead of the official announcement.
2 new gaming monitors
Dell’s monitors continue to be popular and the manufacturer recently entered the gaming segment of the market. The two new 24” S2417DG and 27” SE2717H are designed with gaming in mind.
24” S2417DG comes with a TN LCD panel with 2560x1440 resolution. It boasts a 1 ms (g2g) response time and up to 165Hz refresh rate. It also supports Nvidia’s adaptive frame rate system G-Sync as well as ULMB (Ultra Low Motion Blur). It is flicker-free and can be connected to a PC via DisplayPort or HDMI. More information is available on dell.com.
The larger 27” SE2717H instead supports AMD’s flavor of an adaptive refresh rate system, FreeSync, making it the first Dell monitor to do so. However, it only supports up to 75Hz. It has a 1920x1080 resolution and a better IPS LCD panel with 6 ms (g2g) response time. It is also flicker-free and can be connected to a PC via HDMI or D-Sub (VGA). More information is available on dell.com.
S2417D will be available in the third quarter. No launch information is available for SE2717H yet.
