Video: First impressions of new user interface in Android TV

19 May 2017 | Rasmus Larsen |

Yesterday, we installed a beta version of Android O, and in this video we share our first impressions of the new user interface that is heading to Android TVs.

First look video

The video is 5 minutes long and offers a quick overview of the most obvious changes in the new Android TV user interface. It is beta software so not everything works and things can of course change ahead of the official release.

Google Assistant has yet to arrive on Android TV so we couldn’t comment on it in the video.

Technical deep-dive

During the keynote, Google only spent a few moments talking about the new features, but yesterday the company dedicated a full segment to Android TV.

Below is a video presentation to developers so there are lots of technical details and talk about APIs but if you are curious you should check it out. The video is 35 minutes long.
