All five Mission: Impossible movies will be re-released in 4K/HDR on June 26 to help build hype for the release of the sixth installment in the series.
Mission Impossible in 4K HDR
Paramount has a busy schedule ahead of it. Just in recent months, the studio has confirmed or released catalog titles such as Braveheart, Gladiator, Saving Private Ryan, Forrest Gump, and Terminator: Genisys.
And here comes five additional catalog titles in the form of the Mission: Impossible series that will be re-released on UHD Blu-ray disc:
Mission: Impossible
Mission: Impossible 2
Mission: Impossible 3
Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol
Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation
The movies were shot mostly on 35mm film but it is a little unclear if all of them have been mastered in native 4K resolution for this release. The picture will also be presented in High Dynamic Range. Rogue Nation will include a new Dolby Atmos soundtrack remixed specifically for the home whereas the other titles will include the original soundtrack.
The UHD Blu-ray discs can be pre-ordered on amazon.com. Paramount confirms that the movies will also be available online in 4K HDR on June 26.
The sixth movie in the series Mission: Impossible – Fallout will premiere in theaters on July 27, 2018, and arrive online and on disc later.
