Sony Bravia 2010 line-up in outline

The 2010 line-up from Sony is a whole new direction. Sony has started with a blank piece of paper and a pencil and back to the scratch. The current V, W, Z and X series has been killed and now Sony has developed 4 new series that are built around consumer needs, rather than the technical features.

For example you’ll find the new Cinematic series designed for users with emphasis on picture quality, and the Essential series aiming for price-conscious consumers.

This does not means that Sony has compromised design or technical features - just that Sony has taken a different approach by putting the consumer in center instead of building products based on the classic engineer point of view.

First and foremost the new Bravia 2010 line-up features the new Monolithic design which means that the design has been carved from one piece. Sony also has 3DTVs in the line-up as well as LED backlighting with both Edge LED and LED with local dimming techniques.

Sony has also developed the new OptiContrast panel to improve blacks and reduce reflections. The flagship models has Sony's Motionflow PRO 200 Hz system that is a combination of 200 Hz and scanning backlights.
