Samsung 2025 TV line-up (with TV compare tool)

13 Feb 2025 | Flatpanels |

Samsung is launching 4th generation QD-OLED along with WOLED models, introducing a wireless One Connect box in a new The Frame Pro – for the first time with edge-lit miniLED – and scaling back 8K further. Here's Samsung's 2025 TV line-up.

We have redesigned our TV line-up overview to include more data and technical information (under TV models click on to expand the view). We are also introducing an interactive TV compare tool (use to add TVs to compare tool). It's all powered by the TV Database.
Samsung continues to expand its OLED line-up, and in 2025 it will offer all three OLED TV ranges, all three in sizes up to 83 inches. However, keep an eye out for the OLED panel lottery, which this year will expand from the S90F series to the S95F series, with the 83-inch S95F featuring WOLED. The smaller S95F screens will feature the 4th generation QD-OLED panel, which Samsung Display claims can reach up to 4000 nits of peak brightness and 440 nits of full-screen brightness. It will also come with an upgraded NQ4 AI Gen3 video processor and an improved Anti-Glare 2.0 coating. We expect this model to deliver some of the best picture quality on the market, significantly surpassing even the new 8K LCD models. Also read: First look at 2025 QD-OLED

While S90F will mix QD-OLED and WOLED panels, depending on the size and market, S85F will feature a WOLED panel with slightly higher peak brightness than last year. Samsung will again offer 42-inch OLED TVs in 2025, but only in select regions. The US and Europe will not receive them at launch, although the company has not ruled out expanding availability later in the year. With an expanded OLED line-up, improved panels, HDMI 2.1 with QMS support, and more powerful video processors, Samsung will further increase pressure on LG. In response, LG will launch a significantly improved 4-layer OLED panel in 2025.

Turning our attention to traditional LCD technology, Samsung will continue to scale back its 8K offerings, reserving 8K for select ultra-premium QN990F and QN900F ranges. After discontinuing the QN700 range in 2024, Samsung will phase out the QN800 range in 2025. Of course, Samsung is not alone in stepping back from 8K; this is a broader industry trend, driven by numerous technological limitations. Even after all this time, you really shouldn't buy an 8K TV just yet. The more interesting LCD TV from Samsung in 2025 is QN90F, which will be available in sizes up to 115 inches for the first time. It has been confirmed that the 115-inch model will feature TCL's WHVA LCD panel, which offers wider viewing angles (we are currently gathering information on other models). The smaller QN90F sizes will include an anti-glare coating. Samsung has not disclosed how many miniLED dimming zones its "Neo QLED" LCD TVs have, likely because it is falling behind Hisense and TCL in this area.

A new addition to the line-up this year is The Frame Pro, which will be sold alongside a refreshed The Frame in smaller sizes. Both models feature the anti-glare coating, but two key updates in The Frame Pro include a Wireless One Connect box, allowing you to move players and other peripherals away from the TV, and edge-lit miniLED, where the miniLEDs are positioned along the bottom of the LCD panel. While this provides some picture quality improvements, it is a far cry from the backlit miniLED local dimming in the more expensive models, so keep this in mind if you see The Frame Pro marketed as "miniLED" or "Neo QLED". Samsung will by the way also include the new edge-lit miniLED system in the QN70F "Neo QLED" LCD TV. There will also be a QN85F, the successor to QN85D, and QN80F, which will be available in 100 inches, at least in some regions. Additional entry-level LCD TV ranges will be added to the line-up later this year, but Samsung is also considering launching a ultra-premium flagship 4K LCD TV, which will feature an RGB microLED backlight for the first time. This would offer higher efficiency, a wider color gamut and more dimming zones. FlatpanelsHD has the news on it here. If the RGB microLED LCD TV does indeed launch later in 2025, we will update this line-up overview, along with any updates on the more affordable models.

In terms of new features, Samsung is talking up its "AI" features, although most of these features still run in the cloud or rely on slim machine learning algorithms deployed within the TV. As part of this AI push, Samsung will introduce Live Translate, which will allow subtitles to be translated into other languages, initially supporting English, French, German, Italian, Spanish and Korean. After removing Google Assistant, Samsung is also planning to introduce Microsoft's Copilot. Another update is that the Art Store will expand from The Frame to all "QLED" LCD models (not the OLED models), offering access to over 3000 digital artworks with a subscription plan. However, the other Samsung models will still not be able to automatically switch to artwork when idle. Such auto-features will remain exclusive to The Frame and The Frame Pro. As announced last year, Samsung will begin upgrading Tizen on its older Smart TVs, meaning that select 2024 and 2023 models will also get the new features introduced with Tizen this year. Unfortunately, there is not much new in Tizen 9.0 this year. The most notable change is the new 'One UI', a refreshed, more minimalist menu interface. The Gaming Hub remains limited to select countries. In terms of audio, Samsung first implemented Dolby Atmos support in 2022, and in 2025 it will introduce Eclipsa Audio, a new audio format developed in partnership with Google. Samsung's 2025 soundbars will also support Eclipsa Audio. Samsung remains opposed to Dolby's HDR video format, Dolby Vision, and continues to promote its own HDR10+, which is gaining traction. For example, Apple adopted HDR10+ for iTunes and TV+ movies in 2022 and Disney+ will roll out HDR10+ support later in 2025. For gaming, Samsung's TVs offer up to 165Hz (S95F, QN990F, QN90F), with most models featuring 144Hz. The QN990F 8K model will once again support 4K at 240Hz via HDMI 2.1, according to Samsung.

The 2025 models will of course also support all of the usual Samsung features, including Object Tracking Sound with compatible soundbars, Apple AirPlay 2 support, up to four HDMI 2.1 ports, Filmmaker Mode, HDMI 2.1 QMS, ALLM and VRR, and much more. You can recognize a Samsung 2025 TV model by the letter 'F' after the model number for the broader LCD and QD-OLED line-up, for example S95F. High-end models are labeled S*F or QN*F. As a reminder: Q*F/S*F = 2025, DU/Q*D/QN*D/S*D = 2024, CU/Q*C/QN*C/S*C = 2023, BU/Q*B/QN*B/S*B = 2022, AU/Q*A/QN*A = 2021, TU/T/Q*T = 2020, RU/R/Q*R = 2019, NU/N/Q*FN = 2018, MU/M/Q = 2017, KS/KU = 2016, JS/JU = 2015, HU/H = 2014, F = 2013. The line-up overview will be updated continuously to reflect any changes or new models announced by Samsung. Once the TVs become available, the model name and size will become an active and clickable link to price comparison or retailers.
