Yeah you should do a break-in. The new phosphor layer on VT20 is a little different than on other Panasonic TVs. It's still one of the most resistant plasma TVs, though.

I suggest you run a 100-150 hours break-in.

thank you for the quick reply. Can you point me to an article/link/instructions on "how-to" do the break-in? Do I have to use certain settings on the TV for the break-in period or can I use your calibration settings also for the break-in period?

The typical recommendation is to lower brightness and contrast in the settings in the beginning.

Are you familiar with burning ISO files to DVDs? I can link to a good DVD with a break-in pattern.

I should be able to figure out how to burn ISO files. I burn other files to DVD's on my Macintosh so why not these files.
