I am looking to upgrade my tv. I have a fairly bright living room with some direct lighting. Looking to spend around 2500 bucks on a 55'' flatscreen. I am not a partial to lcd or plasma. Looking at the panny vt30 or the sammy und8000 appear to be close in price, not sure if the brighter room would be a downfall for the plasma or not. Any suggestions would be great thank you.

For bright rooms it's better to use LCD, as the plasma look's greyish in daylight/bright rooms. Downfall of LCD could be uneven backlight (could be different for diff. pieces of same model, also present on sammy d8000), which is for me personnaly not acceptable for such price...
On the other end, plasma will give you better PQ in dark environment... decision is up to you...best is to check those models personnaly and take what you think is best...
