Most media players are designed to not have retention memory for buffered video. There are several reasons as to why this is. One involves DRM protection. Another involves rights management. If you could physically store a movie on the device, the licensee would have to obtain the rights to do so from the licensor. These are not included with the streaming rights. The third one is for technical reasons as most media streaming players have very limited memory.
