This has now finally been confirmed by the Chinese site that has dismantled a 2209WA.

There has been uncertainty about the so called e-IPS panel in Dell's new 2209WA screen. People have speculated that the new e-IPS panel technology is a cheap version that can be compared to the TN panel technology. Now, the Chinese site has dismantled a brand new 2209WA and has found that the 2209WA is indeed using a IPS panel and is therefore the first 22" IPS monitor.
They also reveal that the e-IPS is produced by LG.Display (formerly LG.Philips) which has always been the manufacturer of S-IPS panels.

Billede lĺnt af

Dell 2209WA is the first screen on the market that uses an IPS panel in 22 inches. IPS panels are suitable for graphic work and work with photos, unlike TN panels that are currently found in most PC monitors.

Dell 2209WA

Dell 2209WA seems like a snip at a very attractive price. Dell 2209WA is available now at 272,55 UK pounds on the Dell website.

Source:
