The CES fair in Las Vegas back in January was influenced by the ongoing economic crisis but there’s no indication of any crisis at this year's IFA 2009 elctronics fair. IFA 2009 should be an eventful show.

- "Business (in Germany) is better than we had assumed it would be at the start of the year. In January, industry estimates had pointed to a 4 percent drop in consumer electronics sales this year in Germany, Europe's biggest economy. There's no more talk of that", says Hans-Joachim Kamp, Chairman of the German industry association for consumer electronics, GFU.

Major IFA 2009 trends are expected to be Internet on TV, LED-TV, OLED, design and green technologies.

IFA 2009 is expecting around 1200 exhibitors; just as many as in 2008 which was one of the best IFA fairs ever.
IFA 2009 begins on the 4th of September and FlatpanelsHD is reporting from the IFA daily. Check in on the front page or on our IFA 2009 coverage page.
