Panasonic 2010 line-up in outline

Panasonic will incorporate part of the KURO technology that they acquired from Pioneer in the summer of 2009. This is quite interesting as it might improve black levels a lot and from what we know Panasonic has been able to do so stating a 5.000.000:1 native contrast ratio (not dynamic) on the new Infinite Black Pro panels.

One of the big things in the 2010 line-up is 3DTVs that Panasonic will release on the market in the new VT25 range. Other features are the Neo PDP panels that reduce power consumption and slimmed down TVs.

Panasonic will launch new models ranging from 42 inches to gigantic 65 inches. Most panels will have Full HD resolutions as well but the cheapest series will feature HD Ready panels.

VIERA CAST has been improved on the new 2010 ranges. First of all you can access far more services such as Netflix, Fox Sports, Pandora, Twitter and YouTube. Some of the 2010 ranges will also feature the Skype function enabling users to communicate with others through Skype. The Skype camera supports 720p and will be sold separately.

The flagship models has a THX profile like on the V10 from 2009 providing top class reference picture quality approved by the picture standards (such as color temperature, gamma, color accuracy etc) from THX. ISFccc calibration option mode has been incorporated on some models as well.

Design has not changed drastically from the 2009 line-up but note that the bezels seem more flat and streamlined, although not much.

Panasonic’s 3DTV is called VT25
