Apple released their 27-inch iMac some time ago but a lot of people wanted to know if a non-Mac version of the monitor was on its way. According to insiders Apple has now planned a 27-inch LED Cinema Display with the same 2560x1440 IPS panel that is used in the 27-inch iMac for launch in June.<br /><br /><h3>27-inch LED Cinema Display</h3>Apple has a 27-inch LED Cinema Display on its way as a larger alternative to the currently available <a href=http://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.php?subaction=showfull&id=1231406844 target=_blank><b>24-inch LED Cinema Display</b></a>.<br /><br /><p align=center><a id="thumb" href="pictures/appleledcinema-1l.jpg" class="highslide" rel="highslide"><img class="imgresponsive" src="pictures/appleledcinema-1.jpg" alt="Apple 24” LED Cinema Display" title="Click to view larger picture" /></a><br><i>Apple 24” LED Cinema Display</i></p><br />The 27-inch LED Cinema Display will utilize the same IPS panel with a massive resolution of 2560x1440 pixels in 16:9. The panel will also incorporate a LED backlight that should reduce power consumption considerably.<br /><br />The IPS panel technology is regarded as a quality panel technology suited for graphic work. The same kind of IPS panel is used in the current 24-inch LED Cinema Display as well as the <a href=http://www.flatpanelshd.com/review.php?subaction=showfull&id=1259151406 target=_blank><b>Dell U2410</b></a> and <a href=http://www.flatpanelshd.com/review.php?subaction=showfull&id=1265617565 target=_blank><b>U2711</b></a> monitors.<br /><br /><p align=center><a id="thumb" href="pictures/appleledcinema-2l.jpg" class="highslide" rel="highslide"><img class="imgresponsive" src="pictures/appleledcinema-2.jpg" alt="Apple 24” LED Cinema Display" title="Click to view larger picture" /></a><br><i>Apple 24” LED Cinema Display</i></p><br />Thanks to the success of the 27-inch iMac the 27-inch LED Cinema Display is believed to be marketed more affordably. Apple had some issues with a yellow tint and flickering on some of their 27-inch iMac but these problems seems to have been resolved.<br /><br />According to the same sources the 27-inch LED Cinema Display will be available in June 2010. No pricing yet.<br /><br />Source: <a href= http://www.appleinsider.com/ target=_blank><i>Apple-insider.com</i></a>
