Philips 3D Cinema 21:9 Platinum official
Earlier this year FlatpanelsHD was in Barcelona to see an early 3D Cinema 21:9 model but on IFA 2010 in Berlin Philips have made this model official. The new Philips 3D Cinema 21:9 Platinum is ready to conquer the home cinema with its extra wide 21:9 format, 3D panel, Ambilight, and LED local dimming. Philips 3D Cinema 21:9 Platinum official
In 2009 Philips launched their first 21:9 TV that we also tested here on FlatpanelsHD. This was the first to utilize the extra wide 21:9 format that most movies are shot in today, just like cinemas. Now FlatpanelsHD presents the new Philips 3D Cinema 21:9 Platinum.
The next generation of the Philips 21:9 TV is now ready and. Philips 3D Cinema 21:9 Platinum is the first to bring 3D pictures and the 21:9 format into the living rooms. Philips uses the active 3D technology, which also requires active 3D glasses.
Philips mentions technical features such as the LED Pro system, which is a local dimming system, and the Bright Pro image technology that ensures that very bright elements in the picture are also highlighted to create very high contrast levels. The TV also will use a 400 Hz Clear LCD (200 Hz plus scanning backlights) and the Perfect Natural Motion system
The model has also received a facelift. Philips 3D Cinema 21:9 is a lot slimmer than the current Cinema 21:9 TV and the frame is more elegant and discreet, designed from black and grey materials.

Philips has integrated a range of media functionality, such as NET TV with access to internet services like YouTube, internet browser, and video on demand services.You can also expect DLNA and USB.
Ambilight Spectre 3
And don’t forget the Ambilight system that is incorporated on all of the mid to high-end Philips TVs. Philips 3D Cinema 21:9 will utilize the Ambilight Spectre 3, which means that Ambilight is active on three sides of the frame.Coming in September 2010
