At CES 2010 in Las Vegas LG unveiled their HR500. This never really hit the market, probably because LG had something else up their sleeve. On IFA 2010 LG has presented their updated HR550; a hard disk recorder with an integrated 3D Blu-ray player.

LG HR550 is 3D Blu-ray with hard drive
LG is now launching what a lot of consumers have longed for; a HDD recorder with built in Blu-ray that also supports 3D Blu-ray. It’s called HR550 and is an update to the HR500 that was introduced on CES 2010 but never really hit the market.


HR550 will have a built-in 250GB hard drive for recording on the digital tuners. LG also mentions that the European HR550 model will include DVB-T, DVB-C and DVB-S tuners to support all the TV-platforms.

LG HR550 will also include a Time Shift function that allows you to pause live TV transmissions. On the back you can connect a larger external HDD in the USB port that also support USB sticks with DivX HD, MPEG and MKV files. LG also mentions Internet access and DLNA.Technical Specifications
