Japanese technology meets Danish design
Jacob Jensen Design and Toshiba have joined forces to create a range of TVs. We previously mentioned a F1 series and now Toshiba has officially unveiled WL768 and VL748 models that will hit Europe in a couple of months.
Toshiba and Jacob Jensen Design
The design builds on a minimalistic philosophy with clean lines and a slim frame (less than 3 cm). The choice of materials is glass and aluminum. The two models have different frames. Toshiba WL768 will be the most expensive one and VL748 somewhat cheaper.
The design is complete and the Jacob Jensen has put emphasis on the small details. All inputs are pointing either down or to the side to allow very slim wall mounting solutions. Touch buttons has also been integrated and these are invisible when inactive.
Picture quality looked promising but we don’t want to base our impressions on the demonstrations from the fair ground, and hopefully we will have some more time with these TVs soon.Toshiba WL768
WL768 is the most expensive model with 3D and 200 Hz. The stand has a transparent triangular design and a manual swivel function.
The TV incorporates Internet access to services such as YouTube, as well as two USB inputs and DLNA that lets you stream video, music and images from another device in the home. Toshiba has also focused on speakers and even though WL768 has a slim design, it has decent sound, Toshiba promises.
WL768 be available in Europe in 40, 46 and 55 inches in October called 40WL768, 46WL768 and 55WL768. No prices have been announced yet.
