Bose, known for their audio products, have unveiled their first flat panel TV. The TV has been named VisionWave and comes with a powerful sound system. It will be available starting from October.
Bose VisionWave TV
Bose has unveiled VisionWave; Bose’s first flat panel TV. It comes in 46 inches and introduces innovation such as an extreme integrated audio solution, an external media box and the ClickPad remote control.
Bose VisionWave
The TV itself is a monitor, meaning that it has no integrated digital tuner and no inputs/outputs. All inputs are instead placed in an external media box that connects to the TV with a single cable. The box has no digital tuners either, meaning that you need to connect external tuners.

A key feature is the integrated speaker system. Bose promises that their TV will provide users with sound significantly better than what you’re used to on flat panel TVs.

In the picture above you see the TV with its back cover taken off. All speakers are placed here, including the subwoofers driven by Bose’s WaveGuide technology, and the 7 speakers that use the back wall for sound projection.
The TV is based on an LCD panel with CCFL backlighting.
Touchpad remote
Bose has also put an effort in designing a remote control to go with the TV. The result is a simple device with few buttons and a touchpad.
Bose VisionWave’s ClickPad remote control
Bose calls it the ClickPad and it has also been designed to function as a universal remote. The few buttons are complemented by a menu on the TV, see in the picture above.
Availability
Bose VisionWare will be available in October in a 46 inches variant. The price will be 6800 Euro.
