Engadget.com has posted their first impressions with Toshiba’s new glasses free 3DTVs that will be available later this year in 20 and 12 inches. And they’re not very positive.<br /><br /><h3>Engadget’s verdict</h3>Earlier this week we announced that Toshiba has unveiled two new <a href=http://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.php?subaction=showfull&id=1286352693 target=_Blank><b>3DTVs that doesn’t require 3D glasses</b></a>. These are exhibited on the CEATEC fair in Japan and the tech site Engadget.com has taken a closer look at these.<br /><br />To summarize:<br /><li>Two distinct perspectives in the pictures from some angles<br /><li>Notebook with the 3D panel has minimal depth<br /><li>12-inch 12GL1 huge disappointment and too low resolution<br /><li>Fast paced footage doesn’t work (so no movie watching…)<br /><li>56-inch concept prototype best performer<br /><li>Fair picture at 720p<br /><li>No headaches<br /><li>Viewing angles better than expected<br /><br /><p align=center><a id="thumb" href=" pictures/toshiba3dpreview-1l.jpg" class="highslide" rel="highslide"><img class="imgresponsive" src="pictures/toshiba3dpreview-1.jpg" alt="Toshiba 3DTV" title="Click to enlarge" /></a><br><i>Toshiba 3DTV</i></p><br />Read the full Toshiba 3D preview on <a href=http://www.engadget.com/2010/10/05/toshiba-regza-gl1-3d-preview-no-frills-no-glasses-some-issues/ target=_blank><b>Engadget.com</b></a>.
