Panasonic UK has said that the contract runs until February 2012 to be exact. According to sources Panasonic has an exclusive right to distribute the 3D version of the movie for some time but it’s not clear if the exclusiveness runs until 2012. Some sources have indicated that Panasonic has a limited number of copies that has to be distributed before the movie hits stores but this statement has not been confirmed by Panasonic.

Currently the 3D Blu-ray version of Avatar is selling for $150-200 as a second hand product on eBay at the moment.
