In 2010 all TV manufacturers released 3D TVs with active 3D technology. LG’s Cinema 3D is the first to take advantage of passive 3D that utilizes the much cheaper polarized 3D glasses.
LG claims that Cinema 3D is a much more mainstream 3D technology because the glasses do not rely on batteries, has no crosstalk, causes no eye strain and cost around 1-5 US dollars. The only negative side is that resolution is affected.
LG's Cinema 3D TVs are now shipping from stores in the US and Europe.
The LW6500 is available in 32-65 inches with Cinema 3D, LED and Smart TV Internet functionality. See pricing below:
The inexpensive LW5600 range (550 in Europe) comes with LED, Cinema 3D and Smart TV but without 240/200 Hz. See pricing below.
LG plans to promote their Cinema 3D technology in stores soon so you can check out what all the buzz is about yourself. Learn more about LG's 2011 TV line-up here.
