Eizo presents Foris FS2332 with IPS & LED for gaming

16 Jun 2011 | Rasmus Larsen |

Eizo has announced a new addition to their FORIS range of gamer monitors. The new 23" FS2332 model comes with Full HD resolution, IPS panel and LED backlight. Eizo promises fast response time and very low input lag, which makes FS2332 look like a promising alternative to Dell's IPS monitors.

Eizo FS2332 gaming monitor

Last year Eizo released their FS2331 model with VA panel and now Eizo has announced the new FS2332 monitor. The new FS2332 is designed specifically for gaming and incorporates an IPS panel with LED backlight that reduced power consumption to only 20 W.

Eizo FS2332 comes with dual HDMI inputs, DVI-D, and D-Sub (analog). The HDMI inputs can be used for connecting to Blu-ray players, game consoles & digital cameras.

A new EIZO-developed feature called “Smart Resolution” analyzes both still and moving images for noise and blurring and then adjusts them to appear more clear and natural. Other features that optimize the monitor’s performance for gaming are a gray-to-gray response time of just 6 ms and an input lag of less than one frame.

For amateur digital photography enthusiasts, this monitor is compatible with EIZO EasyPIX. EIZO EasyPIX can be used for calibrating the brightness, color temperature, and gamma to specific values. EIZO EasyPIX consists of color matching software and EIZO’s EX1 color sensor.

For photo editing, gaming, and other tasks where color display is critical, the FORIS FS2332 includes 10-bit gamma correction. This function uses a 10-bit look-up table with a palette of more than one billion colors to select the most appropriate 16.7 million colors on the LCD panel.

Additional Features

  • Remote control for access to the OSD, selecting the active input signal, adjusting volume, etc.
  • 250 cd/m2 brightness and 1000:1 contrast ratio.
  • Dual 0.5 watt internal speakers and a headphone jack.
  • Auto EcoView brightness sensor that reads the ambient lighting and adjusts the screen’s brightness to the ideal level.
  • EcoView Index gauge that encourages environmental consciousness by indicating power savings from using Auto EcoView.
  • Energy Star 5.0 and TCO Displays 5.2 compliance.
  • Five-year manufacturer’s limited warranty.

The FORIS FS2332 begins shipping in July. Visitors to DreamHack Summer 2011 in Jönköping, Sweden from June 18 – 21 can have a first look at the FORIS FS2332. Learn more at
