Bloomberg cites ”people with knowledge of the project” who claim that LG might want to show off Google TV hardware at CES 2012 in Las Vegas this January.

However, details are sparse, and the sources indicate that nothing has been decided on LG’s part yet. However, LG has been interested in the project for some time now.

Sony was the first TV manufacturer to incorporate the Google TV platform in version 1.0 but with little success. At last year’s show a range of TV manufacturers planned to show Google TV hardware but decided not to do it after a lukewarm reception. The new version of Google TV aims to improve the platform by incorporating TV Apps.

Details about LG’s 2012 TVs have already been released with no mention of Google TV. LG’s official 2012 plans will be announced at the CES 2012 show in Las Vegas starting January 10.
