Samsung's 55" Super OLED-TV is official
Samsung has unveiled an 55-inch ”Super OLED-TV” at CES 2012 in Las Vegas. With the OLED-TV, Samsung introduces the world to a new era of TVs with amazing picture quality. The extremely slim OLED-TV also comes with Smart TV, Samsung Apps, 3D and more.

The OLED-TVs have arrived and Samsung is introducing to the world a 55-inch Super OLED-TV. The TV is extremely thin and appears to ”float in the air”.
Samsung’s new Smart TV platform with voice/hand gesture recognition, and face detection is built in, as well as a range of other features. Samsung highlights apps such as Angry Birds and a 3D streaming service. We will take a closer look at the platform later.

Samsung uses OLED pixels with RGB (red, green, blue) subpixels to create colors, unlike LG that is using white OLEDs with colors filters. More to follow on this.

Samsung’s 55-inch OLED-TV will be available in the second half of 2012. Pricing details have not been disclosed yet.
Update: The OLED-TV will be Samsung's 9 series for 2012. It will most likely be called KN55ES9000 when it arrives.
