Google partnered with HTC for the first Nexus smartphone and Samsung for the two recent Nexus smartphones. According to Bloomberg, Google is now considering partnering with LG for a “Nexus” Google TV.<br /><br /><h3>LG to build Nexus TV</h3>Google is trying to breathe new life into the Google TV platform that was recently updated with a new user interface and TV apps. And now Google seems to be preparing a reference – “Nexus” – Google TV device, together with LG.<br /><br /><p align=center><a id="thumb" href="pictures/googletv2012-1l.jpg" class="highslide" rel="highslide"><img class="imgresponsive" src="pictures/googletv2012-1.jpg" alt="Google is considering LG for a Nexus Google TV" title="Click to enlarge" /></a><br><i>LG will probably build a Nexus Google TV</i></p><br />The deal has not been finalized but according to Bloomberg LG is the company favored to build the reference TV device for the new version of Google TV when it arrives later this year.<br /><br />Bloomberg also says that the Google TV platform will receive yearly updates with the next one scheduled for late 2012. Google spokesperson Rishi Chandra says there is “a lot of cool things happening on the recommendation engine and on the discovery experience”.<br /><br />LG showcased Google TV powered TVs at <a href=ces2012.php><b>CES 2012</b></a>. Samsung is also <a href=http://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.php?subaction=showfull&id=1321949556><b>joining Google</b></a> but sticks to their own Smart TV platform for now. <a href=http://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.php?subaction=showfull&id=1326494220><b>Vizio</b></a> and <a href=http://www.flatpanelshd.com/news.php?subaction=showfull&id=1326549361><b>Sony</b></a> released Google TV boxes at CES.<br /><br />- <i>Source: Bloomberg</i>
