Samsung’s touch pad remote
Samsung introduced their 2012 TVs with the updated Smart TV platform at CES 2012. The flagship models will offer a so-called Smart Interaction function that allows users that control the TV with their voice, hands gestures or face recognition.

To aid users, Samsung has also created a touch pad remote with built-in microphone. The touch pad, located on the upper part of the remote, can control the on-screen navigation. The microphone is used to recognize voice commands such as “change channel”, “volume up” and text input.
The new remote uses a combination of Bluetooth and infrared to improve reception. It also controls Samsung’s set-top boxes, Blu-ray players and more, Samsung says.
The touch pad remote will be sold as an accessory for Samsung’s 2012 Smart TVs. No words on pricing.
