According to Digitimes and industry sources, Philips is likely to reveal an OLED-TV at IFA 2012 in September. The OLED panels will be sourced from LG.Display’s OLED production.

Philips to unveil an OLED-TVs at IFA?

In February, 2013 was mentioned as a possible launch window, and even though Digitimes’ report is unable to confirm this, it says that Philips will “showcase” (and not launch) the OLED-TV at IFA 2012.

The OLED-TV will reportedly use LG.Display’s OLED panels that are based on white OLED pixels with color filters. LG exhibited a 55-inch OLED-TV at CES 2012 in Las Vegas, back in January 2012. Sony is also interested in using LG’s OLED panels.

We have to underline that this is still a rumor but it is plausible. IFA 2012 will take place from August 31 to September 5, 2012 In Berlin.
