Sony's new HX950 flagship replaces the current HX92x model with a new design and new features. The TV is still based on the Monolithic design philosophy with a screen that is cut from one glass piece but the rounded base – dubbed “Loop” – is new.

Inside the TV has a backlit LED system with local dimming that enables Sony to control light output in zones, allowing the TV to improve black depth. The picture processor is Sony’s X-Reality PRO and the TV also supports active 3D technology. All Sony’s multimedia features such as Sony Entertainment Network and DLNA are also available.

Sony's new TV is available in the US now. See pricing details for 55” 55HX950 here and for 65” 65HX950 here. HX950 is also rolling out in stores throughout Europe right now.
