Sony is still pushing the Blu-ray format and plans to release so-called “Mastered in 4K” Blu-ray movies this year. But Sony also has a range of new Blu-ray players for 2013.
Sony’s 2013 Blu-ray players
Sony focuses on design and online services with the latest range of Blu-ray players. The design is in line with the new 2013 TVs and follows the Sense of Quartz philosophy.
With built-in WiFi you can access a range of online services including Netflix, YouTube, Facebook and twitter or you can log on to the Sony Entertainment Network and Video/Music Unlimited.
Sony has developed a new app for Android and iOS smartphones and tablets that lets you remote control the players with your touch-screen device.
The new app also moves the TV guide over to the tablet screen and lets you browse your channels here. It also shows more information about the movie you are watching and Sony has also developed an unified search feature that search across online services such as Netflix, YouTube, Google and many more.
Sony’s new Blu-ray players will be available from March 2013.
