Panasonic expands the recording capabilities of its 2013 TVs, making it possible for the first time to record and watch a TV show at the same time. It is also possible to stream TV shows to a tablet. Look for the twin tuner in the European ZT60, VT60, WT60 & DT60 series.

Many buyers in Europe have asked for it for years - and Panasonic has heard you. The new twin tuners will enable a range of new recording function without the need of an external HDD recorder box. The functionality is built into the TV; it only requires an USB HDD.

The twin tuner allows you to:
  • Watch & Share: The Twin HD Tuner allows one family member to watch a TV show on the TV, while another watches a show directly streamed to a smartphone or tablet.
  • Double watching: Watch two TV shows simultaneously, with one showing on the left side of the TV screen and the other on the right.
  • Watch & Record: Record one TV show while watching another, or even record two different broadcasts at the same time while you’re out (requires USB 3.0 HDD).
  • Watch & Zap: Lets you quickly browse listings on your EPG while you continue to watch a TV show through a small second picture.

The twin tuner is available in the ZT60 and VT60 plasma TVs and WT60 and DT60 LED models. FlatpanelsHD is currently in Nice, France to hear more about Panasonic’s European 2013 TV line-up.
