13 Feb 2013 | Rasmus Larsen |

According to an analyst, Apple has scheduled a TV-related event for March 2013. Peter Misek expects Apple to introduce an App Store developer tool for the Apple TV box.

App Store for Apple TV in March?
Analyst Peter Misek from Jefferies has received words from sources in the supply chain about a TV-related event in March.

Peter Misek does not believe that Apple will launch an actual TV but believes that they will unveil developer tools for the Apple TV, making developers able to release apps. Whether the actual App Store will debut at the same time is not addressed but it is a possibility that it will open later to give developers a head start.

An analyst expects Apple to announce an App Store developer tool in March

Apps for the Apple TV had been craved for a long time by many users after the wildly successful App Store on iPhone/iPad. It is already possible to use apps/games on the Apple TV from an iPhone or iPad via Airplay but an actual App Store could open up completely new possibilities.

Peter Misek continues to say that he expect Apple to announce its flat panel TV in September or October.

We have heard rumors about an Apple TV App Store in the past but nothing materialized at those points. Apple has not sent out any invitations and we remain skeptical until we get more confirmation. Peter Misek previously predicted that Apple’s full-blown TV would debut in late 2012 - and that obviously did not happen.
