We have seen an influx of PC monitor with 21:9 aspect ratio in the rent months. Now, NEC is joining the 21:9 pack with the latest 29” EA294WMI. It uses the same IPS panel as the other 21:9 monitors.
NEC’s 29” EA294WMI
NEC’s latest 21:9 monitor has a very wide LCD panel in the 21:9 format that is ideal for movie watching or side-by-side PC applications, with its 2560x1080 pixel resolution.

NEC’s variant is very similar to the other 21:9 monitors that we have seen from Dell, LG, Philips and AOC. It uses the same IPS panel with 178/178 viewing angles and 6 ms (g2g) response time. The IPS panel should qualify for graphic and photographic editing, too.
Additionally, NEC offers a stand with height, tilt, swivel and pivot options. Users can connect the monitor with DisplayPort, HDMI, DVI or D-SUB (VGA). The monitor also has a human sensor and a light sensor that automatically adjusts display brightness.
NEC EA294WMI is available in USA now for $800 USD. It will also be available in Europe soon.
