IFA 2013 kicks off in a few days, and Acer has pre-announced which new products they will exhibit in Berlin. One of them is a 27-inch multi-touch monitor designed for Windows 8. It has a 2560x1440 pixel resolution.

Acer launches 27" multi-touch monitor
Around the same time last year, Acer announced its first monitor built for the touch interface in Windows 8. It was called T272HL, and looks very similar to the just-announced T272HUL model. And it is in many ways. The most significant difference is that Acer will jump from 1920x1080 pixels in the old monitor to 2560x1440 pixels in the new.

Acer T272HUL is a touch monitor designed for Windows 8

Besides that the new T272HUL shares the same design and the same 10-point multi-touch capabilities that allows users to zoom, scroll, and more within Windows 8. The 27-inch monitor has a VA type panel.

Acer T272HUL is a touch monitor designed for Windows 8

The monitor has a built-in camera and a microphone. The design is unchanged with an edge-to-edge look and a transparent part at the bottom. The monitor can be tilted backwards, up to 60 degrees, which Acer believes is optimal when using the touch interface in Windows 8. The monitor comes equipped with DVI, DisplayPort, USB 3.0, and HDMI. It also has integrated 2W speakers, and can be wall mounted.

Acer T272HUL will be available in Europe later in September, and will be showcased at IFA 2013 this week. It will cost 799 Euro.
