It has become sort of a tradition for Loewe. Each year at IFA they show off creative design concepts, mostly focused around TVs and audio. At this year’s IFA Loewe exhibited a TV hanging on a rack, a TV on a rail, and a sort of tablet / TV hybrid.
Loewe’s design concepts
Loewe has had similar design concept sections at IFA in 2010, 2011, and 2012. At IFA 2013 Loewe had some new things to show off. The idea is to get peoples’ reactions to the concepts, and see if there is something that could possibly be used in real products.
A TV and a speaker hanging on a rack
The first design concept is seen above. It is basically a TV and a speaker (next to it) hanging from a rack. It is only a concept for now, and Loewe’s idea is to offer an alternative to the conventional stand or wall mount. The TV can be moved and is wireless, but the power cable is obviously necessary.
Loewe TV in a rail
Another concept is TV above that sits on a rail in the furniture. It can slide from left to right with a gentle push. The TV was placed relatively low, almost at the floor, but as the Loewe staff pointed out it could also be mounted in furniture hanging on the wall - or even in a curved rail.
Loewe’s TV/tablet hybrid
Loewe also exhibited what can best be described as a kind of tablet / TV hybrid. It obviously resembles the modern tablet with a touch screen, but the idea is to make it bigger, and although still portable it is a device used solely at home. Loewe had a matching speaker in the same wooden look and a carrying handle at the top.
In the center of the podium you might have noticed the table saying "Loewe Modularity". The small boxes on top are media centers and streaming devices. This is not a novel idea, but Loewe told us that the idea is to demonstrate how many of these new, wireless TV concepts could connect wirelessly to a central hub. Loewe wants cables out of the wy.
