Today, most monitors come with 16:9-format panels - or
even wider formats. Eizo’s new EV2216W is not one of those, as it has a 16:10-format panel that is also flicker-free.

For certain tasks the extra horizontal pixels certainly make sense, but for most typical office tasks a monitor with extra pixels in the vertical plane is optimal. The 16:10-format offers that.

Eizo EV2216W is a rare addition to the 16:10-format camp. It uses a TN panel and is therefore not suited for working with colors and graphics. It is instead aimed a regular office tasks such as writing, internet, email etc. and has a resolution of 1680x1050 pixels. The monitor uses
flicker-free LEDs, which can reduce eye strain when working in front of a monitor every day.
Eizo says that it can be connected to a PC via DVI, DisplayPort, and D-SUB (VGA). The monitor also has built-in 2x1W speakers and a headphone jack.
Eizo EV2216W is available in stores now for 250 Euro.
