AOC has announced a new 27-inch monitor that uses a Samsung Super PLS panel with 2560x1440 pixels. The monitor is called q2770Pqu, and despite a quality LCD panel the price is still reasonable.

AOC has established itself has a value-for-money alternative in the PC monitor market. With the new 27-inch monitor they try to continue that tradition with a Super PLS panel that has the same characteristics as IPS panels, such as good color reproduction and wide viewing angles.

The monitor has a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels and edge LED backlighting. AOC also highlights a 5 ms response time, 300 cd/m2 brightness, and 178/178 viewing angles. It has a simple matte black design and a base that lets you adjust height, swivel, tilt, and pivot. You can connect it to the PC using HDMI, DVI, DisplayPort, and D-SUB (VGA). It also has two USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports.
AOC q2770Pqu will be available in January 2014 for $500 / €500.
