You have probably already heard about the Oculus Rift. It seems that Sony is creating a similar VR headset for the PS4. It will be unveiled at GDC on March 18th, according to Edge.
A virtual reality headset for PS4
Prototypes are already out in the wild in developers’ hands, claims Edge. Sony’s VR headset is said to be far superior to the first version of the Oculus Rift (Oculus has a newer “Crystal Cove” edition in the works). It is a real virtual reality headset that allows you to move your head and look around in a virtual world with a wide field of view – unlike Sony’s current 3D Viewers.

Not many games are being developed at the moment, as developers are said to be in a wait-and-observe state of mind right now. Sony recently said that they had gone “back to the drawing board” to make the delayed Driveclub game great, which has led some to speculation that it is being redesigned for virtual reality.
Sony is believed to unveil the VR headset as a PS4 peripheral at its “Driving the future of innovation” presentation at the GDC show on March 18th. The presentation is hosted by the two creators of PlayStation Move and Eye. Sony is telling partners that it is a presentation they “would not want to miss”.
