LG’s flat OLED TV comes to the US

Samsung is still struggling to scale up their OLED TV production and have yet to debut their first OLED TV in most countries. LG is moving forward at a much faster pace and is now expanding the availability of their flat 55-inch Gallery OLED TV.

The Gallery OLED TV comes with a “Gallery” frame that includes a 2.2 sound system. It also includes images of famous paintings that you can activate when not watching TV. This is the first time a flat OLED TV has been available in the US, even though it has been available in Europe for some time now. It offers the same impressive picture quality of the curved version (review here) and includes LG's Smart TV features.

LG’s flat OLED TV is available now for $6499. LG’s curved OLED TV has now dropped to $5999. LG will introduce the first 4K OLED TVs in the third or fourth quarter of 2014.
