Airtame's wireless TV dongle delayed to October

Airtame raised $1.25 million at indiegogo and received much praise at CES. Because of the overwhelming response, the wireless HDMI dongle will be delayed. The original plan was to launch in May, but the launch has been pushed to October.

Airtame delayed to October

The goal was to raise $160.000, but the Airtame team went on to raise $1,268,148. The team is understandably overwhelmed by the response, but the unfortunate consequence is that they will not be able to ship the TV dongle until October 2014.

They has originally planned to produce 1800 units, but they will now have to ship 15,000 unit to the backers on indiegogo. In addition, they have to produce units for the later pre-order customers of the TV dongle that wirelessly transmits video from a PC or mobile device to the TV screen – or another PC.

The hardware has been updated following the successful funding campaign, and finally they will need extra effort to get all the required approvals and certifications to start selling the products in various regions. All these factors mean that the Danish team needs more time.

The development plan has been revised:
