Bang & Olufsen has invited the press to a major launch on May 8. The invitation gives a hint to “a Moving Revelation”. A new BeoVision TV could very well be the highlight of the event.
"a Moving Revelation"
Bang & Olufsen is currently selling only three TV ranges; BeoPlay V1, BeoVision 11 and BeoVision 12. If our memory does not fail us, this is the slimmest TV portfolio in a very long time. The BeoVision 12 will soon have to be discontinued, too, since Panasonic – who supplied the plasma panel – has pulled the plug on plasma.
The invitation gives a hint to "a Moving Revelation" and we can only speculate as to what it means. It might refer to something that is emotionally moving or just video. It might also refer to a physical part in a product.
B&O recently introduced their high-end wireless sound platform that lets you connect wireless BeoLab speakers to for example a BeoVision 11 TV. The wireless platform can also be used by other manufacturers and will play a key role in B&O’s future, so it seems very likely that B&O will integrate it more tightly into TVs. Is B&O bold enough to launch a TV without speakers built-in?
Either way, note May 8, 2014 in your calendar if you want to know more about the future of Bang & Olufsen.
