Microsoft has announced a major update to the app catalogue on Xbox One and Xbox 360. Among the new apps are HBO Go, NBA, NHL, and Now TV for the UK.

46 new apps for Xbox

Apps for pretty much all Xbox regions have been announced as a major update. The apps will roll out over the next 6 months. Apps include HBO Go, Showtime Anytime, Comedy Central, several sports apps, and many more.

- “Xbox fans are spending more time than ever on the console, spending more than five hours a day on Xbox One,” said Yusuf Mehdi, CVP, Devices & Studios at Microsoft.

Microsoft will also implement twitter deeply into the TV platform on Xbox One. Tweets related to the show you are watching will display, and you can also see hashtags in TV listings.
