Outclassed in its own field by LG’s OLED TVs, Samsung hopes to capture your attention with a truly gigantic 105-inch LCD TV that actually bends. It can go from flat to curved with the push of a button.

Eyecandy at IFA 2014

Every year at trade shows the big manufacturers try to lure everyone in with some amazing large-screen TVs. According to Korean news sources, Samsung will exhibit a massive 105-inch 4K TV that is bendable at IFA next week.

Samsung actually demonstrated a bendable 85-inch LCD TV back in January at CES and has started selling a slightly smaller variant in Korea, but the new 105-inch would obviously take it to the next level. It will reportedly be called UN105S9B, which suggests it is part of Samsung’s S9 line with the easel stand.

The below video demonstrates Samsung’s 85-inch bendable TV.

It is not clear what the advantages of a large-size bendable TV is if you cannot roll it together or fold it away. Samsung says that you can change the shape from flat to curved by pushing a button on the remote.

IFA kicks off next week in Berlin. FlatpanelsHD is there to give you all the latest news.
