The HBO Go app has arrived on Xbox One, letting HBO cable subscribers enjoy some of the best TV series ever created on the new game console. The app has received a minor facelift from the Xbox 360 version.

It took some time, but here it is. HBO Go is one of the most popular streaming services, even though it still requires a HBO cable TV subscription.

HBO Go was already available on Xbox 360, but the new Xbox One app comes with an updated user interface with the ability to pin select TV shows to the home screen. Content is streamed in HD quality, says HBO.

HBO is still working on an app for PlayStation 4.

HBO will launch a stand-alone streaming service in 2015, but no specific details have been announced and it is currently unclear if the HBO Go app will morph into the stand-alone service.
