The Amazon Fire TV box has a new app. HBO Go has just been added with full integration of Fire TV’s voice search. It will also be available on the Fire TV Stick this spring.

HBO GO was one of the notable missing apps at launch but it is now available on Amazon Fire TV, joining other services such as Netflix, YouTube and Amazon Instant Prime.

- “Since launch we’ve increased the number of services available on Amazon Fire TV by more than 4x,” said Peter Larsen, Vice President Amazon Devices.

The new HBO GO app still requires a HBO cable subscription - at least until HBO cuts the cord next year. The app has full integration with Fire TV’s voice search, meaning that you can ask the remote control to find “Game of Thrones” or other shows.

HBO GO is available on Fire TV now. It will also be available on the new Fire TV Stick this spring. Amazon says that to celebrate the HBO GO partnership they will offer Fire TV for $79 through December 28.
