Panasonic's new soundbar can do wireless surround

23 Feb 2015 | Rasmus Larsen |

Panasonic will launch four new soundbars and two new “speakerboards”. Two of the products come with multi-room support, allowing you to set up wireless 5.1 surround.

New soundbars and speakerboards

Soundbars have become a popular solution for improving TV sound, and in recent years TV manufacturers have started selling the oddly-shaped flat speakers solutions. Panasonic has dubbed it a “speakerboard”.

Panasonic SC-ALL70T

The flagship soundbar and speakerboard are both part of Panasonic’s multi-room solution, which means that you can wirelessly set up for example a 5.1 surround system by adding extra speakers. Most of the new audio products also offer HDMI 2.0, meaning that you can connect a future Ultra HD Blu-ray player with the soundbar as a middle man.

All of the products have been developed with the intent of improving TV sound, but you can also push music from a phone, tablet or PC to the speakers wirelessly.
