Samsung's SUHD TVs are now shipping

24 Apr 2015 | Rasmus Larsen |

Samsung is now shipping its first 2015 TVs - the so-called SUHD TVs - out to customers in Europe and the US. The cheaper models will follow very soon.

Samsung has three TVs in the so-called "SUHD" line to signal that they are moving beyond Ultra HD resolution into better colors and HDR (high dynamic range).

JS9500 is the flagship model with full local dimming for full HDR. It is available in up to 88 inches. JS9000 is the step down and it uses edge LED instead. JS8500 is the cheapest of the three and is curved in Europe and flat in the US. The TVs also feature Tizen, which is Samsung’s new Smart TV platform.
